Inspired by the growing trend of publishers such as Penguin putting out vanity and designer editions of classic books, Ennui attempts once a day to re imagine classics transgressive/cult books as starker dirtier thrift editions to reflect the murky quality within.
All designs on ENC were designed in a combination of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Minimal use of stock photography as well as pre-set fonts as required. Any fonts other than those pre-loaded into the Windows 7 operating system will be given full credit. Many of the signatures aquired for the designs were found on the Wikipedia and belong to the original authors.
All designs were done by Edward Bignar, probably at 11pm at night, probably while desperately trying to get it done before the day is technically over.
The design is actually based off of an lecture I just watched with Chip Kidd were he said that if you say apple and show an apple you're treating your audience like they're stupid. Thanks for the advice!
